Our thoughts are with those people who have had their houses destroyed by the bushfires in the Margaret River and Prevelly regions in South-West WA.  We hope the fires are put out very soon and that those people disrupted by the fires can return to their normal lives.

Margaret Watroba from our home town of Attadale in West Australia became the fourth person from WA to summit Everest last Saturday.  The 61 year old mother of two and grandmother of three attempted the climb last year but had to turn back 50m from the summit due to bad weather.  Margaret has also summited Manaslu – the eighth highest peak in the world.  (The West Australian newspaper).

Prince William has been warmly welcomed by those people who have been devastated by the cyclone and floods.  He joked about a honeymoon in Cairns!  Highlighting those areas in the press and TV can only be good for getting those areas back up and running and for restoring tourism.
